Faith Statement

1. That “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” by which we understand the whole book called The Bible; that it is inerrant in the original writing and that its teaching and authority are absolute, supreme and final. That the Holy Spirit guided the holy men of old in all that they wrote. (2 Timothy 3:16; Deuteronomy 4:2; 2 Peter 1:21).

2. There is one God manifest in three personalities; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Hence, He reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10 & 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).

3. We believe that man is a sinful being in need of redemption (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29; John 6:44; Romans 5:12-21; 1 Cor. 2:14).

4. We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the son of man, that He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35; John 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21).

5. We believe that because of man’s total inability to save himself, salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through sincere, godly repentance, and whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Through being born again, we become new creatures in Jesus Christ. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20:1 Pet. 2:24).

6. That all believers in our Lord Jesus are called into a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices and should abstain from such amusements and habits as will cause others to stumble, or bring reproach upon the cross of Christ. Believers are created in Christ Jesus unto good works. “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). (1 John 2:15, 16; Romans 13:14; Romans 14:13; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 2:10).

7. We believe that having been cleansed by the blood of Christ and quickened by the Spirit, it is God’s Will that we should be sanctified daily and be made partakers of His holiness, walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, forsaking the very appearance of evil. (Rom. 8:1& 5; Rom. 12:1-2; 2 Cor. 7: 1; I Pet. 1: 15; 1 Thess. 5 :22).

8. We believe that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost and is commanded by God. It is subsequent to conversion and not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an inward work. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Acts 2:38).

9. We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s supper as a type of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is an ordinance showing forth the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. (I Cor. 11:23-33; Luke 22:14-20).

2. We believe that marriage was instituted by God, sanctioned by the Lord Jesus Christ, and commended by St. Paul. We believe that a Christian man or woman should not marry an unsaved person. Having been united by God in holy matrimony, both are bound by Scripture and must follow it carefully. Each situation is weighed by Scripture.  (Mal. 2:10-16; 1 Cor. 6:15; Matt. 19:5-9; Luke 16:18; Heb. 13:4)

13. We believe that as the redeemed children of God we should put forth our utmost efforts to spread the Gospel to every ‘kindred, tribe, and tongue.” (II Tim. 4:1-2; Eph. 5:14-16; Prov. 11:30; Ezek. 3:17-18; John 4:35-37)

14. We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

15. We believe in the final judgment of the wicked at the Great White Throne, when the dead, both small and great, shall be resurrected to stand before God to receive the reward of their deeds done in the flesh. (Matt. 13:41-43; Rev. 20:11-15)

16. We believe hell is a literal place of outer darkness, bitter sorrow, remorse, and woe, prepared by God for the devil and his angels, and that there, into a lake that burns with fire and brimstone, shall be cast the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars, and those who have rejected the love of Jesus Christ, whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Rev. 14:10; 20:10, 14 & 15; 21:7-8; Matt. 25:41; Mark 9:43-44)

17. We believe that heaven is the habitation of the Living God, where Christ has gone to prepare a place for all His children, and where they shall dwell eternally in happiness and security with Him. (1 Cor. 2:9; John 14:2; Rev. 7:15-17; 21:4; 22:5)
